About Barry Wilderman
You might call Barry Wilderman the “father of TCO” (though Barry will joke that given his “seasoned” appearance, “grandfather of TCO” might be more appropriate).
As an industry analyst, Barry’s groundbreaking research in 2003 into the total cost of ownership (TCO) of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software established him as the authority on the topic.
Today, Barry is vice president of business strategy at Lawson. In this position, Barry oversees initiatives that showcase the value and business benefit of Lawson software.
Before joining Lawson in December 2006, Barry served as vice president of NPD Group, where he managed the activities of a group of industry analysts specializing in consumer electronics and IT hardware and software. Previously, he was senior vice president at META Group, where he was an analyst in the enterprise resource planning software space.
Things you didn’t know about Barry: He’s a big fan of Tom Swifties. Be sure to send him your favorite.

Hi Barry, in a recent publication I received I saw the above quoted text. Could you please let me know what you did around TCO that was so ground-breaking? Cheers
